Montreal 2009 City Chase Winners - Chris McQuinn & Scott Chisholm
- Listen to the welcome speech - there's always some info in there that will change the game for you.
- Be friendly to other teams. Share knowledge. Most teams are there for the adventure and are more than willing to help out a friendly face. They likely won't be your competition anyhow.
- Avoid the awesome chasepoint. Sad; I know. There's always something wicked like a repel or zipline that is just awesome. Unfortunately these activities are also time-sinks. To win, you must avoid them.
- Know your teammate. You'll need to be able to work together.
- Leave the emotions at home.
- Leave the inhibitions at home. Getting naked is natural and liberating - also, often worth an extra chasepoint.
- Be prepared to run. You don't need to be an elite athlete to win this thing, but it will always be faster to run four blocks than to walk one, catch a bus four and walk back down a block.
- Hydrate. Bring water and/or a sports drink. It's a long race and you'll need energy throughout.
- Have a phone and a map... seriously, people don't bring these?
- Smile! It's supposed to be fun
