Montreal 2009 City Chase Winners - Chris McQuinn & Scott Chisholm

  1. Listen to the welcome speech - there's always some info in there that will change the game for you.

  2. Be friendly to other teams. Share knowledge. Most teams are there for the adventure and are more than willing to help out a friendly face. They likely won't be your competition anyhow.

  3. Avoid the awesome chasepoint.  Sad; I know. There's always something wicked like a repel or zipline that is just awesome. Unfortunately these activities are also time-sinks. To win, you must avoid them.

  4. Know your teammate. You'll need to be able to work together.

  5. Leave the emotions at home.

  6. Leave the inhibitions at home. Getting naked is natural and liberating - also, often worth an extra chasepoint.

  7. Be prepared to run. You don't need to be an elite athlete to win this thing, but it will always be faster to run four blocks than to walk one, catch a bus four and walk back down a block.

  8. Hydrate. Bring water and/or a sports drink. It's a long race and you'll need energy throughout.

  9. Have a phone and a map... seriously, people don't bring these?

  10. Smile! It's supposed to be fun
